Drive-by update

Well, it's been quite a week! I survived my mother coming to visit, managed to cook a turkey dinner in this tiny kitchen, and even put the bookshelves together. I give you three guesses as to which of those accomplishments was most important to me...::grins::

Random: It's soooo nice having the kids in a larger school system. The request came home today for younger son to share his Hannukah books. I didn't have to chase the teacher down!! Even better, older son came home from school today with sentence diagramming homework My sheer glee at this is certain to put me in that special hell for evil parents, but it's only right that my child should go through grammar geek training.

Friending spree: I've gone on a bit of a friending spree here lately. No one should feel obligated to friend back -- I'm easy that way. Just because what you write is interesting to me doesn't necessarily indicate the reciprocal (heck, I struggle to post these updatey things semi-regularly). I vent here, I post about Veronica Mars occasionally, I whine and I moan a *lot*, and I write bits about life as it happens around me.

Shiny: ::bounces:: I've acquired the top 100 hits of 1987, and all the #1 hits from 1980 and 1981! Anybody need some bad 80s music?

Nano: I win, sort of. I'm well past the 50k mark (just past 57, as I haven't written at all today), but the story is just a little past half-told. I think, rue10, that I will keep going. Who knows if I will have this kind of time again after the new year -- I'm going to keep it up until it's done.

WriterCon: Underway, damn the torpedoes, full steam ahead. If you haven't already seen it, there's new info over in writercon. There's a poll, too -- don't forget to drop in your guest requests and programming ideas!! There's a fresh domain: http://www.writercon.com, with an interim web page up. Volunteer queries go to volunteers@writercon.com. General questions go to info@writercon.com. Programming stuff to programming@writercon.com. Questions are welcome here, there, everywhere, of course!

Cookies: The annual Chris-Is-Crazy BakeAthon is coming up. I haven't decided yet what kind of cookies to make this year, but it looks like the sizing on it is about the same as last year. Somewhere on the order of 36 batches for gifts will need to be made... Any suggestions?

Hugs, and congratulations for your many successes, from NaNo to bookshelves to visits! [sends chocolate for the baking, or possibly just for you]

And hugs back to you, my dear. How are you feeling? I know it took weeks for me to start to feel normal again when Red left us.

Yay! Consider me cheering you on. :) And being jealous, as I have summarily dumped mine (which probably needs another couple of years to gestate anyway) and returned to the pile of work looking pitifully at me from my desk. This whole adulthood thing is not all it's cracked up to be. (grins)

Very bummed about the Writercon/ComicCon conflict, btw, as I'm supposed to attend the latter this year! (Will want to at least look into hooking up with a vendor if you guys end up with them again, to get our books in, but that's a thing to do later, I think. . . .)

Oh man, that does suck *mightily*. I hadn't thought about losing you, too. We'll definitely have to figure something out to get the BB books in the Magic Box, regardless. It's soooo sad that I'm typing and then erasing about a dozen plots to get you to Atlanta instead of to ComiCon... ComiCon will be a blast, I know. Someday, I'd love to attend that one myself.
