Because I will do *anything* for doc

Taken at spicklething's request & because Winsome's posts lately have me thinking about the point of LJ:

I want everyone who reads this to ask me 3 questions, no more no less. Ask me anything you want, even if it's extremely personal. It's part of the fun. Then I want you to go to your journal, copy and paste this allowing your friends (including myself) to ask you anything

Editorial comment: I owe a Willow/Giles ficathon fic, a Giles pov auction fic, and assorted other items. It may take me weeks if you ask complicated questions!

Um, okay. I might not follow the second half of the formula until later, but three questions:

1) Favourite meal, and why?

2) What's one small thing that invariably gives you pleasure? Give me three details about it.

3) What are you thinking about for my auction fic What would you like to be writing? :-))

Hugs, dear Chris!

1. Tomatoes, bread, cheese, and olives. Mmmmmmmmm. With chocolate souffle for dessert. Good strong white wine with meal, champagne with dessert.

2. The night sky. I like to look at the moon behind the clouds and see the sprinkling of lights. It reminds me that I'm small, and the universe is large. I like feeling as if I'm a part of something larger, and especially when I'm all tied up in the minutiae of the day, it makes me feel free.

3. Something that makes people feel. I guess it's really that simple, and that hard. Auction fic? I'm looking for a Giles-moment to expand on. Thinking possibly about the second plane ride back in S6, or possibly post-Band Candy thinky thought.

Question the First:
Describe the closest lighting fixture to where you are sitting. (Not really a question but it sort of works)

Question the Second:
What colour socks are you wearing right now and how long have you owned them?

Question the Third:
Why do you think Spike used the expression "Lesson the First"? It sounds kind of poncy for his rough and tumble ways.

1. Small halogen desk lamp (I'm in my bed). It's a royal blue, sorta aerodynamic design.

2. I never, ever wear socks :-) I do own a large pair of sweatsocks with big flamingo feet painted on them for when I get sick in wintertime. I was given those socks almost 10 years ago when I was due with my first child -- mom, who loves socks, knew I'd have cold feet after birth. She was right.

3. In my head, he was mimicing lessons Angelus had taught him...

1) What is your biggest fandom-related regret?

2) Name the three people who have influenced you the most (including the how and why, of course).

3) If money were no object, what sort of vehicle would you buy? Explain in as much detail as you feel like giving.

And welcome back to earth post-Con. Have a scone. ;)

1. Okay, that's hard. I don't think I have any real regrets. Maybe that I didn't find it sooner? I didn't discover this wonderous world until December during S6, and had I known about it a year or so earlier, I'd have had an entire summer free to play in ficland.

2. Grandma Stokes. Andre Norton. Grandma Helen. More on the hows and whys when I am not sneaking in LJ time on lunch break.

3. The nicest mini truck money can buy. The first truly new vehicle I owned, during my swinging single days as an inner city teacher, was a Chevy S-10. Navy blue. It wasn't huge, but it sat me up high over most traffic (I guess that was in the days before SUVs ruled the roadways), had room to haul things, had a kick ass stereo, and suited me to a T. When the kids came along, hub and I both had trucks, and one had to go. Mine went, and I'd love to have another some day. I love road tripping, and look forward to a time when child rearing work is done and the freedom to just get up and go returns.

you are a BRAVE BRAVE BRAVE woman... but this could be very very fun.. heh

1) If you could wave a wand and change one thing about your, or someone else's, life, what would you change and who would you bestow that gift upon and why did you choose that thing/person?

2) What do you feel is your greatest weakness and strength? (can be 2 separate things, obviously, or the same thing, whatever)

3) You're in a room with your 5 closest friends (but not a spouse or child). A burglar (or other equally bad person) comes in and holds you hostage and tells you that you have to pick one person to die, and he'll let everyone else go. Who do you pick to die and why?

1. I won $79.00 at video poker, and fed about $20 to slot machines, before con started. So just over $50 to the positive.

2. An original universe colleen tale.

3. Thu-reeee! A-one, a-two, a-three ::crunch::

2) What do you dislike most about yourself?

3) Who is on 'The List' you know, if you had the opportunity to sleep with and not have consequences list?

These are *hard* to answer in public.

1. That I am open minded and optimistic about people and life in general.

2. That I frequently get diarrhea of the mouth.

3. Oh man. Jude Law. Marsters. Patrick Stewart. And if he'd promise to keep his mouth shut, Richard Gere. Is it kosher to put RL people on this list? The guy with the forked tongue from college, and this other person I won't identify other than to say he was someone who I worked with once upon a time. Total boy-next-doorness.

3 easy ones, coming right up:

1. Favourite music, and why

2. Favourite food, and why

3. Describe your perfect/ideal weekend

1. I'm a music whore. Choosing a favorite is nearly impossible. But there are four cds that I play over and over again, and they never get old: Peter Gabriel, So; Simon & Garfunkle, Greatest Hits; Shrek soundtrack; Eagles Live.

2. One single food? That's hard, too. Olives are just about nature's perfect food, though, I think. Mealwise, see my answer to Lori above.

3. Rise late on Saturday, wake to the ocean outside my bedroom. The sun is up and it's maybe 80ish degrees with a nice quiet breeze. My husband is with me, and we take our coffee onto the porch... (more later.)

1) Who among your live journal friends would you be most likely to marry?

2) Who on your live journal friends list would you most like to meet that you have never met?

3) What was your best subject in highschool?

Here goes:

1. Do you have any phobias? If yes, what are they?

2. If you had a chance to sit down and talk to someone (real or fictional, living or dead) who would it be and why?

3. Who do you admire most and why?

Ok,
1. What was your inspiration for Writer Con?
2. If you were in charge of a network who would you hire to produce programs for you?
3. What is your favorite color and where do you have it around you?

1. The fantabulousness that was meeting a bunch of writers at Shore Leave 2002. I had such a wonderful time, I wanted to do it again. Then in 2003, after Tampa, we were talking in public about wanting to get together, and somebody said (was it Harmony?), we ought to do a fic writers' con... the rest is now (thankfully) history.

2. That's a cheat! Joss Whedon & Rockne O Bannon. Together. I figure they'd create pretty much the perfect show.

3. Green. It's everywhere -- at least this time of the year, North Carolina is filled with green. My bedsheets are also all green.

Your turn!

1. If you came to visit Florida, would you visit one of the main attractions like Disney or Universal Studios? Or would you do one of the main events like Bike Week or the car races? (Please explain.)

2. Did your childhood hair get darker or lighter as you got older?

3. If I made you a double batch of cinnamon rolls, would you roll over and purr like a kitten? :)

Do you know I'd never seen this before tonight? I just came back looking for something Writercon-specific, and saw it all lonely at the bottom of a post.

A year+ late, but owed you nonetheless:

1. I wouldn't do any of those things. If I were traveling alone, I'd head for St. Augustine and stay in a place right smack on the beach for a week, doing nothing other than be a beach bum and eating seafood and staring at the stars at night. With hubby in tow, I'd go for Reds' spring training, up in Sarasota or St. Pete.

2. Darker, definitely! I was definitely blond as a child, but am distinctly mouse-brown as a grownup.

3. I would, indeed. I think I would even play with a ball of yarn for you ;-)
