Help us find Jen

A public post, just in case:

No news is good news, or at the least that's the way my prayers are headed. The case is official now, and Jen is in the national database for missing persons. A detective has been assigned to the case and is following it at a high priority level. Locally, friends and family have fliers they are spreading around, and Zola, our darling Guttermom, has made a web page for Jen here:

http://www.zolaweb.com/Jen/

Please keep Jen and her family in your prayers/thoughts. Positive energy can only help.

And, as before, if you know or see something, but know that Jen wishes to stay anonymous, please don't hesitate to contact me privately. I'd feel so very, very much better if I only knew she was safe. It's been last July since I saw her in person, and I want very much to see her again this summer.

Since I've been asked more than once since Saturday night: No, this is not a hoax of any kind. Yes, there have been some extraordinary stresses in her life of late, and it's entirely possible that she's taken off to try to regain some sense of normalcy.

Stop reading here if you're in a fragile state. What follows is personal pain.

And to take it a bit farther than I've been asked, just in case: Yes, if you have information and do not want to share it with her family or the police, I will honor your confidence with immense gratitude. I just want the tearing my gut to stop, and I want to stop thinking about a little girl never hearing from her mommy again.

I can't imagine a happier task right now than having to delete all these posts so that Jen doesn't have to ever be reminded that this all happened.

Thanks, Kumiko. I'm passing all of these messages back to her family, as they come in, and *hoping* that she's out there and safe. Prayers can only help.

Thank you so much for keeping us updated about this and sharing with us. Word has been spread rather rapidly, but i still go back to you. My thoughts and prayers are all going in the same place as yours, and I do hope that Jen just needed a break. I, too, thought of her daughter and again, my heart goes out to her family.

Thank you, for the update.

Like everyone, I'm worried sick about her, and I pray she turns up okay. Thank you.

Thanks for piping up, Minim. You are someone I hadn't contacted directly yet, but I know she thinks the world of you. Keep a sharp eye out -- if I had to get entirely away from life, I might very well go cross country. You guys on the west coast could be her safety net.

I only know Jen in that nebulous LJ/fandom way, but I'm stunned and worried as well. I've linked to your post in my own LJ - hope that's okay. I figure the more people who know the better a chance that someone who knows something might see.

My hopes and prays go out to her close friends and family.

Thanks, Saava. This is how we'll get word around. She has a phenomenal number of people looking out for her right now-- I can only believe that will help.

Like so many of you, I'm coming back to that poor little girl who must be feeling so frightened and lost right now.

And to Jen, who may well be feeling the same. Is it wrong that I'm *hoping* you're feeling that way and have taken off to regain some perspective? I don't think so, given the alternative.

Best wishes to Jen's family and Jen - if you're reading this - best wishes to you, too. At this point, we all just want to hear that you're safe and well.

I do so hope she's reading this, or someone is reading it to her. But if our thoughts and prayers and energy are working, she will soon enough.

I'm passing everyone's lovely concerns back to the family so that they know how well loved she is, too.

Chris, this is so horrible and terrifying. We always think things like this happen to that nebulous "someone else".

Please let us know if there's anything else we can do. Should we spread the URL? Do you want me to post it anywhere else? I'm at your disposal.

If positive vibes count, she'll be found soon. Spreading the word doesn't hurt, and could help, so go for it if you've seen a corner of fandom where word hasn't got out yet.

I only know Jen in that vague, distant way that comes with exchanging comments on LJ. But I do know what it's like to have a parent go missing, and my heart goes out to both Jen and to her family. I don't pray, but I hope very much that Jen's okay, and that she'll come home safely. Thanks for keeping us updated.

I only know Jen through things she's done for fandom...fic and such. But, I'm very disturbed and worried by this. It's just so horrible. I've been praying for her as well as those close to her since I heard about the situation yesterday. I hope that everything turns out alright and most of all that she is safe.

*hugs*

If there's anything I can do, let me know. Also, if you think it would help to link this post elsewhere to spread the word I would be more than willing to do that in my own journal. Just let me know.

I hope for good news soon...

By all means, feel free to post the link onwards. I'd like to think we've thrown a pretty wide blanket at this point, but it can't hurt.

Thanks for keeping us updated Chris...I don't really know Jen all that well, but I do remember her from Tab Rasa days, and I hope everything is okay. That poor little girl. Here's hoping that we get some information very, very soon.
